A while back we were in Arizona and Lisa and Kira were checking out some thrift stores. Lisa saw a dress that she figured would make the perfect Professor Trelawny costume for Halloween so that is what we did for Halloween this year. That plan was set, I was going to be Professor Dumbledor and Lisa was going to be Professor Trelawny.
The ward “trunk or treat” was Saturday night. The Bishop is not a big fan of Halloween and last year he suggested that we change it to a “Fall Festival” and get rid of the Halloween portion. That went over like a lead balloon.
While I am completely sympathetic with and supportive of the Bishop, it is odd that we go to church and celebrate witches, devils, skeletons, ghosts and vampires, I was also a bit dissappointed that I might not get to wear my Dumbledor outfit. I am supportive of the bishop, but I was glad that the “Fall Festival” morphed into the “Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat” night. It was a very fun night and I sampled three different chili recipes. They were all very good and went perfectly with Peter Odenwalders home made root beer. I even found one of my Hogwarts students there.

Across all locations—and regardless of access to artificial light—participants slept less and took longer to fall asleep in the nights leading up to a full moon. The researchers think this may reflect an ancient adaptation: When the moon was brightest, our ancestors likely stayed up later to hunt, socialize, or work by natural light.
