Thirty One Years

The other day I was bemoaning the fact that I haven't posted a blog in a very long time. As I sat there wondering why this is the case it dawned on me that there are several reasons why.

First - there is this new app for smart phones called "Instagram". You can snap a picture and instantly post it with a short comment for all of your friends to see. It is very easy to do and for me at least, it takes away some of the urgency I used to feel about letting my kids (and those friends who care) in on what I'm doing. The problem is that not all of my kids have smart phones and it doesn't really lend itself for expounding much on how I feel about things.

Second - my calling as Coordinator in the temple is taking up much more time than I anticipated it would. My Tuesday evenings and Wednesday evenings are spent preparing a schedule and then of course Thursday evening I am at the temple. There goes three out of four evenings of the week.

Third - my two other callings (Sunday School President and High Priest Secretary) take up at least another evening.

Fourth - I now have two kids at home and I really like to play with them while I can.

Having said all of that I am recommitting myself to make more frequent and much shorter postings even if it is just to say I'm still alive.

My short message for today is let everyone know that today my wife and I celebrated thirty one years of marriage. I have no idea why she agreed to marry me but I'm sure glad that she did.

I know what you mean about Instagram taking away from blogging... I don't check my googlereader as much as I used to now. But, it's nice to have a blog post from you! I had forgotten but you and Lisa share my parents anniversary. That's sorta neat!
