The Weekend

It is now the end of another wonderful weekend and tomorrow it is back to work. Friday was a very sad day. Westview football was in a three way tie for second place. First place was obviously Oceanside and they will be going to State again. That means that no one else in our league has a chance of winning CIF but Westview, Valley Center and Ramona were both 7 - 1 going into the weekend. Valley Center played Oceanside so they got worked but Ramona squeaked a win over us. Bummer, it was a sad day at Westview Friday night. Ramona will be playing Oceanside next Friday though so we will be back to our three way tie. The funny thing is that we beat Valley Center, Valley Center beat Ramona and Ramona beat us. Sarah also had her last meet on Friday. She did well but she is now done for the season. I think Sarah is getting back to normal. She pucked in the middle of the race. You may think that her pucking is a bad thing but she always pucks in her races. It is just how she is built. In fact this is the first time she's pucked in a race since she's been sick so maybe it is a good sign. Her goal is always to puck after the race is over but this time she pucked in the middle of the race or she would have placed a little bit better. She still scored for the team and that is what is important. In the race there was a Mount Carmel girl in front of her who stumbled and went down. Sarah instinctively reached down and grabbed her arm and pulled her up. She said "oh no you don't, you need to get up and keep going!" What a sweetheart. She is such a compassionate person. It makes me happy that she is like this but it is hard to win races this way. I'm just glad that Sarah at least came in ahead of her.

If the top picture is your Dad it's the wrong uniform. If it's your Uncle it is the right uniform, RCAF.

I recognize that ramp! Sarah has always been sweet like that. Always thinking about the other person ... Too bad I'm not more like her.

You're right grandpa. Dad was RCAF but he was a mechanic on a tank. How does that work?
