So as you can imagine, there is significant rivalry between the two High Schools and the local Kiwanis club has a trophy for the school that wins the football game between the two schools. Back when Ben played for Mt Carmel the cup was for the winner between Poway and Mt Carmel but now it is Westview and Mt Carmel. Ben won it his senior year and Alex actually won it last year and as you can guess from the picture, Alex won it his senior year but the score was 21 - 20. What a nail biter. The game wasn't as close as the score suggests because we really did dominate them but we would occasionally mess up and Mt Carmel would get a touchdown out of it. My heart rate was much too high during the last few minutes of the game. We had some added excitement during the game as well. Take a look at the video clip.

Yes, that is a couple of streakers. I would have video taped them out on the field jumping around trying to swing from the goal posts but I was in a state of shock and it took me a minute to remember I had a video camera in my hand. There was actually a third kid but he chickened out and stayed behind the stands. We had one very fast security guard and when these kids headed out of the field this guard was right behind them and they actually caught them. They will be expelled from school and have to finish up their year at Abraxis High School which is the school for all the trouble makers. It was a very exciting night.video clip removed - see comments

Today I put drywall up in my garage. I was working too hard to take a picture, sorry. Now I have to mud it and then paint. I have no idea why they wouldn't just finish the garage when they built the house. Oh well. It looks nice.

For those reading this you need to know it is hard to express the rivalry and how important the game was to win. It wouldn't have mattered if we had lost every game this season this was the game to win because of that rivalry. I think you need to also put the video clip of Alex jumping around at the end. By the way, the wall looks good. You are so handy and it's nice to have a husband who knows how to do these things. I can't wait to get it all finished!
How exciting ... GO SUNDEVILS!!!!!!!!!! Mt. Carmel Rocks! I am so glad you put up the video of the streakers ... to funny, but how stupid on their part! Finishing at Abraxis? Dumb!
Oh man! One stupid decision and your life is changed in an instant. How sad!
I bet the third boy is happy that he chickened out.
Hope to see a pic of your drywall soon!
P.S. I am thinking that the rivalry between your two schools is the same that it was for Rosemary High and Duchess when I was in High school. The excitement and the tension and competition was always SO high! Oh, I miss the good ole' days. : D
Just so you all know, as sister of one of the streakers, they aren't going to be expelled and they aren't going to abraxis. I don't know where these rumors are coming from. Both of the guys got in trouble (there was no third streaker who chickened out either) but both will be back at their school when their punishment is over.
Out of respect for the families please remove the video of the two boys. They are minors and we would appreciate the video removed. I'm sure that you understand that this is not a proud moment for any of the parents and unfortunately teenagers sometimes react without thinking. I guarantee your child will have one or already has - maybe just not publicly. Thank you!
Somehow the kids involved in the streaking incident found my blog. The kids themselves left comments and emails filled with a lot of profanity and nasty insults but out of respect to those that love them I've removed the video clip as requested by one of their parents.
I found it quite funny. Yes there was nudity but still, its not like the video has a profound message. On the other hang. To the parents who said that abraxsus was for bad kids. Its really not, about 10% of the school was for bad kids but the other 90% was for kids who couldnt do a normal highschool carreer, including having to take care of a poor family and have a job during the day to help support. Please do you research before saying remarks like this.
